FAQ

  1. Does Chiropractic Treatment hurt?
No,especially because I utilize Activator Methods, low force/high speed chiropractic adjustments, Sacro Occipital Technique, and Cranio Sacral corrections. All these techniques use gentle, specific light force corrections that allow your body’s own healing powers to adapt to the correction, rather than trying to overpower your body.
  2. If I start Chiropractic Treatment, will I be coming in for the rest of my life?
That’s up to you and whatever your health goals are. Chiropractors recognize different phases of care. During Acute (crisis) care the focus is on symptom relief and beginning correction. During Corrective Care, after symptoms of inflammation have been reduced,it’s time for you to relearn more healthy habit patterns to “hold”the corrections dealing with a world of ongoing stresses. During Optimal Health Care new and better habit patterns are being learned by your body/mind; changes in nutrition, exercise and, stress management have been fully integrated. The results are good for you, including increased vitality and wellness.Ultimately, though, you choose what you need. A doctor is an educator and if I’ve done my job properly, then you’ll have the information that you need to make the choices that will support your health.
  3. Is Chiropractic covered by insurance?
Most insurances cover Chiropractic Care. I am a provider for Blue Cross Blue Shield of RI, Medicare, Tufts, and United to name a few. If I am not a provider of your insurance, than out of network benefits would apply. Workman’s Compensation and automobile insurance cover you for necessary Chiropractic Care. In most cases no referral is necessary.
  4. What do Medical Doctors think about Chiropractic?
Many MDs refer their patients to DCs (chiropractors) and vice a versa. It’s to the benefit of the patient to have free flowing information and referrals. Many studies conducted by MDs And DCs have validated Chiropractic.
  5. What is the legal status of Chiropractic?
Chiropractic Doctors enjoy “physician” status in Rhode Island, as do medical doctors, dentists, and podiatrists. Therefore I can order any needed tests such as MRI, CT scans, blood work, etc to aid in forming a diagnosis. If you are involved in an accident and you have a lawyer, then your lawyer will rely upon me to provide the necessary care and reports to present to your insurance company. Furthermore, the courts recognize Chiropractic Physician Testimony as“expert witness testimony.”
